How I Work
Techniques from a wide range of disciplines and experience are employed to tailor an approach specific to your needs and concerns. You will be supported to work with what you are experiencing in your life right now. While some exploration of past experiences provides valuable insight you will do the majority of your exploration in the present tense where positive change can occur.
What Are My Influences?
The underpinnings of my approach are Transpersonal, Systemic, Collaborative and Holistic. In the realm of couples therapy I am also greatly influenced by Sue Johnson’s work with couples and her writing and teaching on Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples.
Why Are These Approaches Important?
These are approaches that view you as interconnected to others. They suggest that your struggles are not meaningless but rather valuable learning that you would not otherwise have. These approaches see you as containing all the unique resources within you necessary for addressing whatever may arise in your life be it stress, anxiety, depression, divorce, marriage or any of the many other challenges that life brings.
